Another way to understand it would be as a 2 step operation, a delete and then a withdrawal. As an example, in the window above, both the deposited hours and the balance are 3. So if you try changing the deposit to a withdraw the balance would be at zero so there would no balance from which to withdraw. If the balance had been 4 hours and the deposit was 3, then the amount that could be withdrawn could be no more than 1.
